Zimbabwe’s under fire Minister in serious health scare as doom looms

Harare – Zimbabwe’s Minister of Local Government, and Zanu PF’s National Party Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere was last night rushed to hospital after a serious health scare which resulted in admission.

Kasukuwere, commonly called ‘Tyson’ is reported to have been taken to a hospital believed to be Corporate 24 (Trauma Center) in Harare’s leafy suburb of Belgravia late last night suffering from shortness of breadth, irregular heartbeat, light headedness, mild hallucinations, massive sweating and a high fever.

According to inside sources, doctors immediately checked his blood pressure, and put him on Diazepm, a drug often used to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

‘He arrived very very late at night in the company of his wife, and a few gentleman. He was really unwell, and had to be taken in. I can’t tell you if he is still here or not, but i can tell you, his blood pressure was at a level where he could have had a stroke if doctors had not intervened. It was extremely horrible i tell you’, a source said on condition of anonymity.

Efforts to get a comment from the Minister were fruitless, as all his mobile phones went unanswered.

Kasukuwere finds himself in a serious spot of bother, with his party’s highest decision making bodies, the Politburo and Central Committee meeting on consecutive days to discuss his fate.

While Mugabe appeared to defend Kasukuwere, and questioned why state media was attacking his cabinet minister, it was apparent to many that, the state media houses would not be attacking Mugabe without the necessary backing of the President

Kasukuwere has fallen out of favour spectacularly. Several provinces want him fired, while the women’s league and youth league find him divisive, but consequently, it is his soured relationship with the war veterans which is sealing his fate.

It is thought that it is, was, this impending fall that has led to his stress induced illness.
