Harare – Zimbabwe’s former Minister of Finance, Ignatius Chombo appeared before a magistrate in the country’s capital facing an ironic ‘new’ set of charges relating to offences committed nearly 20 years ago.
Chombo was granted bail just last week, in relation to other offences committed during the ZW Dollar era.
Chombo is facing an additional two counts of contravening the prevention of corruption act, and receiving a bribe.
The complainant in the case, Eddies Pfugari Property Developers lost over half a million USD.
Chombo was remanded out of custody on conditions similar the ones given when he was granted bail by the High Court last week.
