Govt warns command agric input abusers
Justice Mayor Wadyajena speaks in Gokwe, Midlands

Gokwe – The newly appointed Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Parliamentary Portfolio Committee chairman Justice Mayor Wadyajena has warned abusers of command agriculture inputs that he will expose them in forthcoming parliamentary session.

Wadyajena, a no nonsense youthful legislator, cut his teeth into parliamentary portfolio committees when he exposed the ousted former local government minister Saviour Kasukuwere’s shady dealings during his stint as the indigenisation minister.

Wadyajena dragged Kasukuwere into a parliamentary hearing after failing to account for the funds meant for community ownership schemes.

Wadyajena also took to task Kasukuwere’ s predecessor, former Youth and indigenisation minister Patrick Zhuwao over abuse of youth funds.

After president Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rise Wadyajena was given a new mandate in the lands and agriculture ministry.

The hint on what will be happening in the Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Parliamentary Portfolio Committee was revealed in Gokwe Nembudziya where presidential inputs were distributed to traditional leaders.

Wadyajena, the Gokwe Nembudziya legislator, who is also Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Parliamentary Portfolio Committee chairman said there are no sacred cows regarding abusers of presidential and command agriculture inputs.

Zanu PF through government has embarked on initiatives to boost productivity in farms with command agriculture and presidential well wishers scheme being the main programmes.

Command agriculture has been a success last season attributed to good rains and proper funding mechanisms adopted by government.
