Harare – Forgotten United African National Council (UANC) has checked out of political Intensive Care Unit (I.C.U).

After years in the doldrums, the party made a bold move of returning to the leadership table by announcing that party chairman Rev Gwinyai Muzorewa will be contesting in this year’s Presidential elections.

Rev Gwinyai Muzorewa, an ordained Minister and a Professor in theology, with special interest in leadership theology has had a few false starts to his race to be Zimbabwe’s first citizen.
In March last year, he vowed to beat Former President Robert Mugabe in the 2018 elections and reverse his policies once in office.
As fate would have it he disappeared  into oblivion only to resurface in October at the UANC congress where he threw shots at ZANU PF asserting that the “Patriotic Front” was now a “Pathetic Front” .
As if stepping out of his older brother The late Rev Abel Muzorewa’s shadow is not hard enough, he now has to face a rejuvenated  Zanu Pf under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
His older brother was the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe-Rhodesia briefly in 1979 during a time of internal settlement. A move that got the Late Reverend to be labelled a sell-out.
Could this be the second coming of Pastor Evan?
A clergyman who steps into the political arena, causes a stir and then fizzle out like the faith of most believers.
The man of cloth believes he has the key to Zimbabwe’s economic prosperity.
” What i really need to see being done differently is to change the Zanu Pf way of governance, it has been in existence for 37 years which has taken us where we are now. It means ideology is not good for Zimbabwe. We want economic prosperity.” he said.
