Zimbabwe Tourism Authority is headed for a public relations crisis if they do not reign in their novice spokesperson officer, analysts have warned.

This comes in the wake of Chief Koti’s recent comments on the flopped Warriors match against World Class Legends which drew criticism.
In a radio interview with Star Fm’s Mazwi Shamu, the former sportscaster made a shocking mockery of Sakunda Holdings, the sponsors of the match.
When asked on whether the match which drew a paltry crowd was a waste of money, Koti said it was the sponsor’s loss.
“Was the match money that went down the drain? No it was not water down the drain. We had a sponsor it was their money that went down the drain,” said Koti on live radio.
ZTA Chief Karikoga Kaseke revealed Sakunda as the financiers of the match last week.
The interviewed was marred by a display of questionable communication etiquette.
Responding on why his organisation decided to have the match at an inconvenient time, he said the local fans were not the priority when the idea was mooted.
“The image internally looked bad but the world saw us through multiple sporting channels in Spain and Europe.It was a midweek game who cares what explanation that we give to the world.
I have to expressly state that it is not taxpayers money. We didn’t get the money from Chinamasa,” said Koti.
For a person who has been spending time with motormouth Acie Lumumba, it is apparent that Koti may be drawing stunts from his comrade, as evidenced by his recent theatrics.
Zimbabwe is on a path to rebrand and many are asking if such a character is the right voice for the process.
