We will not be ruled by ‘small boy’ Chamisa – War Vets

Harare – The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association ZNLWVA has said that they will not be ruled by a 40-year-old.

Spokesperson Douglas Mahiya told local news agency 263Chat the MDC Alliance’s Presidential candidate, Nelson Chamisa will not win the 30 July harmonized elections neither would the war veterans accept his victory.

“I heard a small boy talking about winning elections, saying he is taking over the country, this country will never be ruled by small boys and we will never allow that, isn’t it true people?” said Mahiya.

In response, opposition activist Pedzisai Ruhanya dismissed the assertion.

“Zanu PF supported Kabila at an age of 29 to take over in DRC and at $0 they say Chamisa is young; what nonsense, hypocrisy.”

“…in any case, what has Zanu PF’s generentocratic rule brought to Zimbabwe apart from their patronage, clientelist, kleptocratic, primitive accumulation of wealth, corruption”

The statement by the war veterans differs from their allies in the military who have stated that they will follow the constitution.
