UK authorities disgusted by SB Moyo attack, promise action

The United Kingdom embassy in Zimbabwe has condemned the actions of a group of Zimbabweans who attacked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cde S. B Moyo in London a few days ago.

Writing on its Twitter handle on Wednesday, the Embassy said violence has no place in Zimbabwe, “Whilst we support the right to peaceful protest, violence is never acceptable. We have been in touch with the relevant authorities in UK and Zimbabwe about the
incident involving Foreign Minister Sibusiso Moyo”

Minister Moyo was attacked by suspected MDC supporters soon after he engaged popular British Royal institute of International affairs, otherwise known as Chatham House where he called for peaceful disagreement among Zimbabweans and while acknowledging those who were demonstrating outside the hall jokingly said: “If you lock three Zimbabweans in one room they will form five political parties. We must learn to differ peacefully.”

The Minister’s attack was met with mixed emotions, with some supporting the rogue group for attacking what they called “corrupt leaders” and some condemning the actions and urging Govt to take action.
